I am a drums teacher, also I have specialization on Latin Percussion. I cover music theory, various rudiments, history of drums & several music genres, different styles based on proper tradition.
First I start with note value, time signature & rudiments so that students can understand the fundamentals of rhythm & the way of counting. After that I introduce some basic patterns based different time signature so that students understand in & out of Time Signature. Then I share different types of phrasing, fills. Then I start with various other genres. Simultaneously I give lessons on Afro-Cuban & different forms of Afro-Latin rhythms. Cause, according to the history, the idea of drums evolved from Afro-Latin music only & then later on South Indian, Rajasthani music & different forms of folk music of India influenced drums. That's why I cover long range of various forms of music.
