I'm Sook Ying, female, 24 years old, based in Kuala Lumpur.

I'm currently working as a full time auditor and part time tutor, because I enjoy teaching a lot and would like to give back to the society through tutoring. I had one year of teaching experience (online & offline) for 1-to-1 classes and small group classes.

I would describe myself as a dedicated and caring teacher. I would understand my students' needs in that particular subject/ their struggle and weakness in that particular subject. I would make sure my students are learning at their comfortable pace and I emphasize on effective learning. I care about my students' academic performance and will make sure they have learnt something new form me.

Besides, I believe providing a fun learning environment for a student (especially for a child/kid) is vitally important because learning does not mean only acquiring knowledge, it also refers to a process of unlocking children's potential and new experiences. Thus, I like to conduct the lessons with kids in an interactive, fun and interesting way.

Amazing and Encouraging Teacher

I have had a few mandarin lessons with Ms Sook Ying and they have been amazing! She really pays attention to your level and prepares quality teaching materials accordingly. I am blown away by her professionalism and yet she is very friendly as well. This is a little embarrassing to admit, but I appreciate her words of encouragement very much since I am a total beginner in mandarin. It motivates me to do better. I am confident that anyone learning from her would benefit greatly. Xiè xiè lǎo shī~
