Adrian Healy (B.A, M.A, CELTA).
Native English language teacher with 20 years of teaching students., I have ample experience of contact with and teaching of both English and Spanish to monolingual and multilingual classes of all ages (children, sixth-form age students and adults in university education) and from a diverse range of international contexts.My teaching experience is evidence of my excellent spoken and written English and foreign language skills, clear diction, patience, understanding of the learning process, lateral thinking, and confidence. This experience has also enabled me to gain an understanding of the importance of differentiation in the learning process and its positive effects within the classroom environment. I also believe that it is important to focus not only on the linguistic skills of the student but also to engender a broader awareness of English-speaker culture and way of life.

  • English language teacher (Apr, 2022–Present) at English Path, Dubai
    In my capacity as an English teacher at EP Dubai, I teach students from various nationalities and cultures ranging from A1 to C2 level. I also successfully prepare students, in reduced class sizes, for the IELTS exam. This involves the independent preparation of weekly lesson plans and resources, one to one tutorials with students to discuss their progress and better assess their needs, the preparation, setting and marking of weekly and quarterly exams, and attending weekly team meetings to better liaise with my colleagues and thereby implement a collaborative approach to teaching within the school. I also regularly attend and present CPD meetings including CPD online training sessions which are attended by all EP schools.

    Lead teacher for Grade 10; preparing and distributing teaching resources for Al Ain Military High School, Al Dhafra MHS and Al Dhaid MHS. Regular collaboration and liaison with fellow employees. Attendance at departmental meetings and meetings with my line manager to implement a systematic and collaborative approach to both teaching and assessments. Teaching English as a second language to local Emirati students with a particular focus on their preparation for both the EMSAT and IELTS exams. Other duties included supporting learners, managing behavior, official exam preparation, planning, writing reports, classroom management and ensuring the safety and welfare of all students. I have become very adept at teaching online during the Covid-19 pandemic and am skilled in both preparing resources for online classes and in teaching the students by means of online classes. This has also involved the setting and correcting of various assignments and setting up and invigilating exams for various levels.
