I started teaching IBDP and IGCSE in 1999.
Vast experience both as Examiner and Head of Department, English, having worked in schools following the ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) and ISC, (Indian School Certificate). I was also a Team Leader.
I write poems and some of them have been published abroad in Poetry Journals.

My teaching taps creative thinking and analysis. After explaning the text, I specify what an Examiner looks for, I give them work to do, insist on a plan and a proper introduction, advice on structure and relevant feedback. I share resources and explain what went right or wrong in the assignment and how to improve. I review the marked papers of their respective schools and point out how they could have scored better marks. Students who I have taught have been toppers in both the IGCSE and IBDP. I listen to the student's point of view and then give . I also make uo for classes opinion. I am able to understand the student's area of weakness and work on improving that. Students who I have taught continue to value me through their visits when they holiday in Bangalore. I am confidents that students will continue to improve under my guidance. I reach out to students when they need extra classes. I also make up for classes missed either by the student or me due to unavoidable circumstances. I feel very satisfied to reach out to students who need help and I always make my teaching interesting with a little background knowlege about the writer and the times. I have been succesful in dispelling the fear that one cannot score a high grade in English. I have been able to develop a love for reading and literature in my students.

  • HoD English, Vice Principal (Jul, 2005–Jun, 2017) at Indus International School, Bangalore
    As HoD English, I taught Grades 9 to 10, IGCSE and Grades 11 & 12 IBDP. Was a Facilitator for SAIBSA. Was an Examiner for the IB. I was also The Vice Principal for five years. I conducted observation classes, trained teachers in the English Department, I went through all Lesson Plans. I was instrumental in creating an Assessment Report for Sports to ensure that students moved from Level 1 to Level 3. Raised the School Orchesra with over 250 students, Was the Editor of the School Magazine. Wrote the Monthly Newsletter for the Principal. Coordinated all the ExtraCurroicular activites. I also helped students during the After School Classes. I also supervised the Boarding.
