I feel passionate about teaching as it comes naturally to me and it gives me a sense of reward witnessing students' gradual improvement. I am very patient, adjust my pace according to the students', and I articulate my explanations very clear and concisely. Learning is all about knowing what works for you, and what excites you as a person. I often customise the teaching materials according to the student's needs. At the same time, learning is a dynamic activity that involves communication, teamwork, trial and error. I impart my experiences as both a student and working professional to help the student embrace challenges in their educational journey.

The following is a summary of my education, teaching experience and the grades of my students:
- Recipient of the NUS Kent Ridge Undergraduate Scholarship, and graduated with First class honours in Economics from NUS.
- 7 years experience of giving private 1-to-1 and small group tuition for secondary 3 and 4 O/N level A-math, E-math, and pure Chemistry, and JC H1 and H2 Math and Chemistry. In total, I have taught 23 students.
- After the first month of teaching, students' math and chemistry grades improved from C6 to B3, and after a year of teaching, grades improved from B3 to A1 for emath.
- My students attained A1 for O'level Chemistry, Emath and Amath in 2017 to 2020. Sec4 students improved from B4 to A2 after 1 semester for Chem and math. JC2 students improved from U to A,and E to B for A levels, some JC1 students improved from U to B for final year exams. JC2 students from Hwa Chong, Temasek and SAJC attained As and Bs for H1 math, H2 math, and H2 chem in A levels and promos for 2019 to 2022.

Experience

  • Artificial Intelligence Scientist (Feb, 2022–Jul, 2022) at Only Rewards Pte. Ltd.
    • Designed, developed and deployed new and existing Machine Learning (ML) models using python for data pre-processing, aggressive driving and passenger entrance detection for auto-insurance pricing.
    • Developed and secured a patented data-preprocessing pipeline and outlier detection model.
    • Conceptualised a driver risk score model that compute driver risk scores.
    • Deployed and managed AI models on AWS using AWS lambda, ECR and sagemaker for MLOps, and Docker.
    • Conducted in-depth research in detecting outliers, mobile usage, transport mode, passenger role, vehicle damage type, vehicle trajectory, and in actuarial risk pricing and signal processing.
    • Assisted in Back-end software development and documentation of software architecture hosted by AWS.
    • Designed test-drive experiments for data collection.
