I love the world of teaching, especially the field of Indonesian. I started teaching since I was still studying at the university as a freelance tentor. Until finally I could teach in college. For me, giving knowledge is a reward. I have tried several teaching styles, such as :
1. Lecture-style teaching: This is a traditional teaching style where the teacher presents information to students through lectures and PowerPoint presentations.
2. Inquiry-based teaching: This style focuses on asking questions and cultivating curiosity in students. The teacher acts as a facilitator or guide to help students explore topics and find answers.
3. Collaborative teaching: In this style, students work together in groups to solve problems, complete projects, and create presentations. The teacher provides guidance and feedback.
4. Flipped classroom: This is a newer teaching style where students watch video lectures or read texts at home before coming to class. In class they work on group projects, assignments and discussions.
5. Experiential teaching: This style emphasizes hands-on learning experiences through experiments, simulations, field trips or real-life activities.
6. Montessori approach: This is a teaching style used in primary schools. The teacher follows the child's interests and development in creating a curriculum and provides hands-on activities and materials for learning.
7. Socratic teaching: This style emphasizes questioning, reasoning, and critical thinking. The teacher poses questions that challenge students to think deeply and arrive at their conclusions.
Anyway, some of my students said that i'am a great teacher because i have such as excellent communication skills, vast knowledge and expertise in my subject matter, good planning and organization skills to deliver effective lessons, patience and understanding towards my students, dedication and commitment to teaching, and the ability to motivate and inspire my students towards success.
