I graduated with a bachelor´s degree in Modern Languages from the Pontificia Bolivariana University in Medellín. I have worked as a virtual Spanish teacher since 2015, especially with foreigners.
I am interested in working as an online Spanish teacher because it gives me the opportunity to share my culture and language; besides, I enjoy exchanging ideas and experiences with people from other cultures which benefits the students as well as me in terms of social and cultural enrichment.
I implement different effective methodologies in my classes, but I generally apply the communicative approach and TTT / STT teaching models. All four skills are practiced in my classes, but speaking and listening are given special attention because they are the skills that students are most interested in. I always attempt to design my lessons so that students can pursue their needs and interests that initially sparked their interest in learning the language.
Since students seem particularly interested in being able to communicate in the situations that they would have to face in their daily routines, whether they need to interact with Spanish speakers in their social or professional settings, plan to live in a Spanish-speaking country, or want to take a vacation in a Spanish-American country, I design my classes with an emphasis on the various communicative needs that everyday life implies.
I place great importance on using interactive and online resources in my classes to help students in discovering and putting self-study strategies into practice as well as learning the language.
