My name is Michael Sasu. I began and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, one of the most prestigious institutions of higher learning in Ghana. I am currently employed as a Biology Teacher at Merton International School, where we train international students according to the Cambridge International Curriculum.
In my thesis, I undertook a project which reflected upon the efficacy of locally cultivated plants such as Aloe vera on inhibiting the growth of microorganisms such as Streptococcus, Salmonella, Vibrio, and Candida. I believe the findings obtained in my research at this level is a stepping stone for even higher research.
As a result of developing and polishing my practical and theoretical skills while completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and also while volunteering as an intern at Korle-Bu Central Laboratory situated in Ghana, this has helped me develop the discipline to produce high quality copy in a deadline-driven environment.
Please feel free to contact me to schedule an interview by phone or e-mail at your convenience.
Experience
-
Accra (Nov, 2022
–Present) at Merton International School, Accra
Over the last 24 months, I have been able to instigate a passion for many students to pursue a career in the life sciences. I hope in this regard, to direct the energies and efforts of the youth into improving upon the lives of many by research into many fields of science.
I have taught long enough to find ways to keep students engaged and interested in lessons. I have the ability to design lessons to ensure students are up-to-date with the schools standards and to ensure they are actually learning the information. I have experience setting up experiments for the students to conduct and I encourage students to come up with their own experiments that we can test out in the laboratory. I stay updated on all the latest research and information concerning biology. In doing so, I can relay this information to my students.
