I believe that every chapter of every subject resembles the Pareto principle i.e A small set of concepts forms the basis around which that chapter revolves. I have used this earlier in my teachings and the results have been excellent : I help my students understand the key concepts thoroughly, this takes a little while initially but once through, the student him/herself is able to derive most of the remaining chapter and is able to solve all the End-Of-Chapter problems. Not only does this make my students more confident but this also helps them become self sufficient because over time they learn to extract the few key points themselves.
