I coach students to perform optimally. I include study techniques. I am willing to go the extra mile to motivate students and enhance their knowledge to ensure that they are top of their class.
I also assist in planning conceptual models and review dissertations.
I use the demonstrator style which goes beyond lectures, showing presentations, images, films and experiments. As a result, it’s more applicable to more learning styles. In addition, I incorporate a hybrid (also known as blended) approach to strike a balance between me, the teacher- and students. I would bring my own knowledge and expertise into the class, having a structure for every lecture but will adjust my plans to incorporate engagement from students.
I also shit to a more student-centered approach, the facilitator style. Thus, instead of giving one-directional lectures, I will encourage inquiry-based learning. Here, students learn by asking questions and discussing real-world case studies. I would even design some other activities to improve problem-solving skills and help students to understand the subject matter better through practical challenges.
From here, I would also act as a delegator when required. I would merely present as an observer and leave the work to the group of students or the individual. It is interesting to note that most of the learning happens via peer-to-peer through frequent collaborations and discussions. I would just facilitate the discussions instead.
