Abel DavidHigh School Teacher Major in Math
No reviews yet
I'm a professional Math teacher. I served in my previous employer as a responsible, dedicated, and hardworking employee. I spent the mojority of my teaching career as a high school teacher, focusing on pre-algebra, advanced algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, and pre-calculus.
Since mathematics is not an easy subject for many, there are times that I really need to apply the different teaching strategies from teacher centered approach to students centered set up. sometimes concepts should be discussed first. When the concepts are clearly taught, a guided drill is to follow to ensure that learning really takes place. Paired work, group activities, skit, concept investigations, puzzles are the common recipes in classroom set up. If it is needed to have an after school tutorial for those who really have difficulty in lesson, I'm willing to extend my time.
Some of my former students when they pay a visit to school, they express their gartitude because they really apply in college/senior high school what they learned in math. Even the students who struggled in math when they were in junior high school they find themselves getting line of 9 grades when they move in senior high school. In fact, they are the ones who help their classmates to understand their lmath essons. It's heart warming to hear this kind of story from my former students. This is the proof that all the effort that I made turned into a good result.
