Dear music enthusiasts,
I am Dr. Shivangi Vardhan, a dentist and an administrator (MBA) by profession, but my passion lies in the realm of Hindustani Classical Vocal music. With a rich musical lineage and 18 years of rigorous training, I have had the privilege of immersing myself in this captivating art form.
Grand daughter of Great Musicologist Acharya Brahaspati .From a young age, I ( She) was fortunate to receive guidance from my mother, Dr. Sarita Pathak Yajurvedi, a renowned classical vocalist of Rampur Sadarang Tradition and Associate Professor Bharati College, University of Delhi, following the esteemed Guru Shishya Parampara tradition. I began my musical journey at the tender age of 5, under her tutelage. Moreover, my grandmother, Smt. Sulochana Brahaspati, who is not only my mother's guru but also an exceptional musician herself, has played an instrumental role in shaping my musical prowess.
Over the years, my dedication and commitment to Hindustani Classical Vocal music have been recognized through various accolades. I have been honored with the National Scholarship for Hindustani Classical Vocal music while studying in DPS RK Puram, New Delhi till the age of 20 years and done five year course from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad with distinction and have had the opportunity to showcase my skills through numerous performances like Sahitya Kapa Parishad's 'Bhakti Sangeet' and 'Tansen Sangeet Samaroh' Gwalior and Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts and Culture( IGNCA) and won many awards.
While music remains my passion, I have also pursued a successful career as a dentist and an administrator. This multidimensional experience has allowed me to balance my professional life while nurturing my musical aspirations. It has taught me discipline, perseverance, and the importance of honing multiple talents.
As I continue on this lifelong musical journey, I aspire to spread the beauty of Hindustani Classical Vocal music through performances, teaching, and collaborations. I believe in the power of music to heal, inspire, and bring joy to people's lives. It is an honor to share my musical heritage and to contribute to the rich tapestry of Indian classical music.
