Marco Gonçalves: A Dedicated and Versatile Teacher

I am Marco Gonçalves, a passionate teacher of French and Portuguese languages. With extensive experience in teaching these two languages, I am excited to share my professional journey with you.

Throughout the years, I have had the opportunity to work in different educational contexts, which has provided me with a variety of enriching experiences. I began my journey as a teacher of French and Portuguese in several schools, where I not only developed students' language skills but also acted as a mentor and class director. Additionally, I held positions as a School Library Coordinator and a member of the Pedagogical Council, allowing me to contribute to the educational environment more comprehensively.

My passion for teaching and the French language also led me to participate in educational exchanges with Félix Kir School in Plombières-lès-Dijon, enriching my knowledge of French culture and traditions. This unique experience allowed me to impart not only the language but also a deeper understanding of the cultural richness that the French language carries.

Furthermore, I have worked as a trainer in different institutions such as the Qualifica Triformis Center and the IEFP. In these roles, I had the opportunity to share my knowledge with adults in programs aimed at recognizing and validating their skills. As a trainer, I utilized innovative methods such as distance learning through platforms like Meet, Zoom, Teams, and other educational technologies, providing students with an engaging and effective learning experience.

My experience as a teacher of French and Portuguese also extends to secondary education, having worked in Mondim de Basto and Celorico de Basto secondary schools. In these institutions, I adapted my classes to the students' needs, providing personalized and efficient education.

In addition to my involvement in teaching, I am committed to my own professional development. I have participated in various training courses and conferences over the years, seeking to update my knowledge and enhance my pedagogical skills. Moreover, my academic background in Portuguese and French Language and Literature at the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro has provided me with a solid foundation in linguistic, literary, and cultural studies of these languages.

As a teacher, I believe that learning should be inspiring and stimulating. I use a variety of resources such as interactive activities, pronunciation exercises, authentic text reading, and group discussions to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment. I constantly strive to adapt my lessons to the needs and interests of the students, so they feel motivated and excited about learning.

Above all, I am passionate about helping my students achieve their language goals and develop confidence in communicating in French and Portuguese. Witnessing my students progress and become fluent in these languages is the greatest reward a teacher can receive.
