I was born in Busia county where I grew up. I practised the Roman Catholic doctrine in my childhood. However Allah SWT guided me to Islam in 1994. I went to a local madrasa in Lamu county, where I learnt the basic doctrines of Islam and the Arabic language till 1997. I later got a scholarship in December 1997 from al-Azhar university, Cairo to pursue further studies and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Islamic and Arabic studies in 2004. I'm pursuing my master's degree in the Arabic language and hope to finish soon.
Since I did not know the Arabic language, I used my English fluency to understand Arabic and have perfected the manner of teaching it to others to prevent the new learners from feeling less interested. I'm a high school teacher. Besides teaching I work as an Arabic<>English<>Arabic simultaneous interpreter and have worked in various conferences within the country and abroad in multi-national conferences. I also do translations and transcription of translated articles.
