I am a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, in one of the leading universities in Sri Lanka. I have a doctorate and 18 years of experience in teaching Anatomy and conducting multidisciplinary research. Teaching Anatomy, particularly histology and gross anatomy, is my passion, and I am eager to contribute to education in different cultural and regional contexts. My expertise extends beyond medical students to include students pursuing degrees in human biology, biomedical sciences, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and other related fields.

In my teaching approach, I prioritize the fundamentals. For instance, in histology, I provide a comprehensive understanding of the four basic tissue types. This enables students to navigate through various body systems without relying solely on memorization. When it comes to gross anatomy, I always integrate applied anatomy to enhance comprehension. Many medical students struggle with structured essay questions and multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Therefore, all my lessons incorporate a variety of question formats, including single best answer (SBA), MCQs, and short essay questions (SEQs).
