I am an Indian classical music teacher who received a merit-based full-ride scholarship from Delhi University and has 17 years of experience as a music teacher. i have been taking online classes with students around the world for the last 5 years.

Having gone through a decade of formal training within the field myself, I understand the impact of a teacher in unlocking the musical potential of their students. In my experience, a personalized approach towards lesson plans catering to the students' individual interests, unbound to a preset curriculum, facilitates fastest skill progression.

Throughout my experience as a teacher, my students have won more than 20 awards in Inter-Zonal and Inter-School Competitions, and one of my ex-students, Jannabi Das, ranked in the top 10 in Indian Idol.

My expertise lies in increasing students' vocal ranges (frequencies that they can sing at) and instituting musical creativity by guiding students through the process of writing their own compositions.

Our lessons will be Zoom-based and would preferably be on a weekly schedule. I hope to see you all soon!

    I have been teaching my students alankars, ragas :alap, khayal, tarana:and taans (bol taan and swar taan) and in light music we have covered bhajans, patriotic songs, bollywood songs as well as my self composed songs.

Nice class

It is a very nice class.The teacher will explain in a good and easily understandable manner.I am 10 years old. I play piano as well so I can relate concepts a lot with her teaching.

Amazing teacher!

Swapna ma'am is an excellent teacher. She is an incredible singer and has a vast knowledge of classical ragas. I went to her with zero musical experience and now I look forward to my music class every week! She is very patient and thorough in her teaching. You can see that she really enjoys teaching music.

Met my expectations and then some!

Swapna's experience and temperament makes her a great teacher. I wanted to be able to sing some popular bollywood tunes so she came up with a lesson plan which includes Hindustani basics. We meet once a week and making progress little by little towards my goal.

Three months ago, I began taking singing classes with Swapna via Zoom, I am located in Europe. My goal is to learn the basics of singing and chanting mantras with the harmonium. Swapna has proven to be a reliable and punctual teacher, always prepared for our sessions. Her musical setup, including the harmonium, enhances our learning experience. I can see which notes she plays on the harmonium. She regularly seeks feedback to ensure our classes meet my needs and is open to teaching songs or mantras of my choice.
