Angelo UrreteExperienced Math Tutor for Year 1-12

I have almost a decade experience teaching Math (online/offline) of all levels to different nationalities and curricula. I pride myself in making complex concepts as simple as possible for the students to understand. I also approach teaching the subject in a firm but fair way, encouraging them to make all of the mistakes with me, rather than in school. I make it a point to frame it as a tool that fast tracks learning, and once the fear of making mistakes is gone, I find that they learn better. I have seen hundreds of my previous students who have come to improve greatly, as they have spent more time with me, and even appreciate Math at the end of the day.

Experience
Math Tutor (May, 2022–Present) at Tutoring Club Dubai
▪ Teach the students (1st to 12th Grade) all needed topics in Math from basic Arithmetic, Geometry, Algebra, Statistics, Trigonometry, and Calculus, among others. Lately, there has been more focus on students preparing for their GCSEs, A/ AS Levels, SATs, and AP Calculus exams. For some students, I still teach Math online, alongside face-to-face lessons.
▪ Determine what order the topics should be taught and the ratio in which the time would be spent between the Mathnasium curriculum and their school curriculum depending on their current standing and goals, and also the time of year (e.g. exams period).
▪ Coordinate with the parents about the students’ past and current performance in school, and what their goals for the students are, and eventually, of their progress. The parents and students are of diverse nationalities, as well. This extends to giving regular updates about the students’ progress and also what things they can do at home to help with the retention.
Math Tutor (Jul, 2016–Apr, 2022) at Mathnasium, Dubai
▪ Teach the students (1st to 12th Grade) all needed topics in Math from basic Arithmetic, Geometry, Algebra, Statistics, Trigonometry, and Calculus, among others. The actual teaching involves finding the best way specific to the student that would make the most sense to them and to give immediate feedback when they make a mistake or when they do well. To adapt to the pandemic, teaching Math online has also been a staple alongside face-to-face lessons.
▪ Administer the assessment of prospective students their strengths and weaknesses in Math. Additionally, there are also post-assessments, and for the next higher levels.
