I am working as a Mathematics & ICT teacher, with 4years experience at Sri Viddyadeepa Buddhist Nuns' Educational Institute. For the last few years, I have been focused on teaching mathematics and ICT to pre-primary students to O/L students in productive way.
Alongside my role as a maths teacher, I also serve as the incharge of technical services in school, incharge of the prefect board, the census officer, disciplinary incharge teacher of lay students, as well as the ICT officer of the school.
When talking about my responsibilities, teaching mathematics from kindergarten to local O/L students and Piriven Final Examination students; holding annual maths day, prepares annual school report, budget handling of all the projects going on are major responsibilities of mine.
My key successes during this position:
- Helped over 95% of students achieve grades of B or above in O\L Examination and piriven final examination
- won the first runners up in All Island Mathematics Day Competition 2021
- Being a member of the organising committee of the Piriven final exam conference series held for the Buddhist nuns, first time in Sri Lanka in 2021.
Aside from teaching, I volunteer to provide counseling for students' problems. Therefore, I have a good understanding of the problems that students have to experience in learning as well as in daily life and I have many experiences of solving such cases.
