Hello, I am Otieno, a master's degree holder in biodiversity and natural resources management and a BSc in environmental science. I have been teaching sciences for the last 7 years, dealing with both theory and practice. I prefer relaxed student-teacher interaction with clear learning objectives. My keen interest has been in sharing information with people.
As a research scientist in the zoology department, I have a passion for and experience in biodiversity analysis, aquatic ecosystems, data analysis, data collection methodologies, and the mapping of geographic resources. I am also competent in using software such as Excel, SPSS, and QGIS.
I have been teaching high school and university students, mainly handling practicals and open discussions. I have always been keen on the students' feedback and cordial interaction. I value students' strengths and build my teaching concepts and methods from their needs and preferences to satisfactorily meet their demands. Where possible, illustrations are always vital for better understanding and engagement.
Since I am an open-minded individual who values student input on all topics, my classes offer a safe space for students to voice their concerns and ask me questions.
