I am more concerned about enabling folks with disabilities to learn just like every other person. The fundamental reason why I have decided to pursue this career is that I feel a strong desire to positively influence and educate folks with disabilities through sign language. I feel that one of the best achievements as a teacher is to enrich people’s lives and more importantly give people equal opportunities. I understand that dealing with folks with a disability such as Deaf requires patience, compassion, understanding and the sensitivity, which I am wholeheartedly ready and prepared to deliver. The ability to learn is one of the most important developments of humanity.
Speaking about my teaching methodology, I love the demonstrator/ Coach style, I love this style because it allows me to use demonstrations and examples to teach others and to make the lessons stick more, I also love to include activities in my teachings to make sure everyone is engaged in the learning process.
Having taught several males and females with disabilities using Sign Language. I am looking for a position that will allow me to continue my passion. I have developed a range of teaching methodologies that best suit this set of people because I understand that there is a learning difference. The motivation of students is incredibly high, so that has to be matched with the quality of my teaching. I always try to offer every student as much individual attention as possible within the scope of the lessons and I am a big believer in setting homework according to a students developmental needs.
I would be delighted to share my professional recommendations and come along for a free trial lesson to give you an idea of my competence.
