Thankyou so much for considering me as your tutor. I know time is prescious and you want to make an inofrmed choice abut the best tutor for you. What separates me from other tutors is the diverse range and wealth of experiences I have. And so to make these as comprehensible as possible I´ve organised information into 3 parts, with subheadings for your ease.

1) QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
I am a kind, creative and experienced English and Drama teacher.

**Qualified SENDCo and special needs tutor.**

**Russell Group University 2:1 BA HONS and Royal Central School of Speech and Drama...
Whilst studying English Literature at a top Russell Group University - Sheffield, I tutored english essay writing skills and english as a foreign language.
After getting a 2:1, I then achieved a place at the world-renowned Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (Judy Dench, Laurence Olivier etc) where I completed a MA in Classical Acting.
Whilst studying and I taught drama for 6 years for Stagecoach and tutored GCSE Drama as well as help prepare students for their drama school auditions.

**Acting, Writing and the BBC
What separates me from a lot of other tutors is that I have first-hand professional experience as both an actor, voice over artist and writer for channel four.
I worked for BBC Drama as a script reader and professional actor for over ten years in London.
After successfully working as an actor in a wide-variety of Theatre companies including Kneehigh and The National Theatre I realised in my heart I was a teacher - I cared more about my students getting an audition, acing an exam or feeling more confident reading than I did my own achievements as an actor.

**TEFL, Working Abroad & The British Council...
So having always had a passion for travel I decided to complete my TEFL in Madrid and lived and worked out there for 4 years. As well as teaching the British National Curriculum I also ran a successful private tutoring business where I had over 30 students - from 5-50years old.
The British Cuncil and I worked together to set up a Summer Drama Programme and I ran this annually for my time in Madrid.
I have also taught internationally in Bangkok, Thailand.

**Teach First & PGDDE...
I have tutored now for over 15 years but more consistently the last 5 years. Having returned to UK I applied for the highly esteemed Teach First and am now teaching Secondary English in a state school completing my PGDE via Bath Spa University.

Above everything I believe in kindness, equality and building people up in any situation...as well as having a keen sense of humour. I would never promise more than I could deliver in terms of progress and comitment as I believe in being somebody whose words match their actions.

2) MY STUDENTS AND TEACHING STYLE
Every Student is different...
I have worked with 100´s of students over the years and the overwhelming similarity has been that every student is different. And so I have never taken a ´one size fits all´ with my students and the results have been absolute testament to the success of this approach.
The common denominator with all my classes has been the sense of fun, the great rapport we have had and how we have broken down some of the negative preceonceptions they might have about themselves or tutoring.

**Results speak for themselves...
TEFL: 85% of students have passed all PET, FCE, CAE, Proficiency on their first try. 100% of students have passed on their second.
100% of students found interview and presentation skills lessons either secured them a job or got them a second interview.

100% of students went up a level at the end of two terms.
11+ School with a usual 80% pass rate received a 96% passrate.
Drama: 100% of students got to final stages of Drama school auditions, 60% offered a place; RADA, CENTRAL, BOV, DRAMA CENTRE, EAST15 and more.
KS3/KS4 English & Drama: Tutored prviately in London, International schools in Madrid.

3) WHY SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED PENNIES ON ME?
Quite simply because I will be just as invested in your success as you are. I also believe in helping a student take responsibility for their learning in a supportive and positive environment that actually cultivates a love for learning. That is something that will stay with you long after our tutoring sessions.
In each of my lessons you can expect:
*Preparation
*Goals and objectives set at beginning of term
*All materials and knowledge of curriculum/exam
*Homework set and marked
*Mid-term and end of term tests.
*Evaluation report at the end of term.
