Bonjour !
I believe a language is best learnt through communication & through frequent use of the language. Hence, I strongly encourage my students during lesson time to use what we learn in class to communicate with other students or myself. I strive as much as possible to maintain a French environment for the students even if sometimes, they might not understand every single word because I believe this helps to prepare their ears for the things they will learn in the future & it also encourages them to rely on other information such as other languages they know, words they already know in French or other contextual information to figure out the information they don't understand. Of course, I will be there to confirm that their understanding is correct. This process of the students working to figure out the meaning of a sentence for example is essential to developing skills that students will require to improve their understanding of a language, particularly whenever they work on it in autonomy without the presence of a teacher or even Internet or when they communicate with native speakers.
I also believe that a language is strongly connected to its culture. One cannot exist without the other. As much as possible, I enjoy sharing the French culture, be it the food, celebrations, songs, etc. with my students.
Being highly motivated by my passion for the French language & its culture, I also strive to do my best to expose my students to it & create an environment where students also discover their own passion for the French language & culture.
