I teach Financial Econometrics and Modeling, Econometrics and Mathematical Programing in a very clear procedural stages, depending on the complexity of the model and the theoretical background of the model. First, I state the model to be estimated, replicate it in structural equation forms, and form the matrix. Thereafter, the assumptions underlaying the model are specified and the associated violations. Next, I present the appropriate estimation method/techniques in a very simplified form to motivate the interest of students and then provide how the required data can be sourced or prepared using excel . Finally, I teach student on application which involves the estimation of the stated model using Eviews, STATA, R, Python, OxMetrics or Matlab. I provide student with information on how to interpret the outcomes of the estimated model. I ask questions in every stage from students and answer the questions to expand discussion; and students are allow to participate through assignments. This builds the confidence of students in most of my training and teaching programs.
