As an Assistant Professor with ten plus years of experience in higher education, my job includes both teaching and research. Throughout my teaching career, I have taught various subjects in the manufacturing field, including fundamental manufacturing processes, machine tool operations, advanced machining processes, metrology and measurements, engineering mechanics, engineering drawing, and material science. I have participated in various seminars and faculty development programs linked to manufacturing research to improve my teaching skills continually. One of the programs that made me passionate about teaching was "High Impact Teaching Skills" by Dale Carnegie, conducted by Mission 10X, Wipro India. During pandemic COVID-19, I have finished two certification courses through Coursera online, i.e., "Learn to teach online" from New South Wales University, Sydney, and "University Teaching" from the University of Hong Kong. Aside from that, I gave lessons online flatform through zoom to our university students during COVID-19. I can work in groups, manage my workload, and assist students in completing tasks by offering material and interpersonal skills. My professional goal is to encourage my students to pursue their learning interests and critical thinking skills—to create a learner-centered atmosphere in the classroom. I consider that honest, open communication with students is essential for learning. I am excited to work in a collaborative learning and teaching setting with both faculty and students, where I will be able to build courses that incorporate creative teaching strategies and the most recent theories and research using an interdisciplinary approach. I assist and inspire students to participate in activity-based learning and celebratory study with industry through my experience and knowledge. Collaborative learning is also vital to my teaching style since it promotes critical thinking and helps students enhance their communication and technical skills. As a researcher, on the other hand, I have supervised several project theses for both graduate and postgraduate students in the study areas of A-TIG welding, modeling of metal forming processes, and the influence of cutting fluids on machining and surface finish. In addition, I introduced FEM and ABAQUS simulation for metal forming processes and machining operations to the students and am currently working on WAAM of various steels and mechanical characteristics and process parameter optimization.
