Personally I use charts during my teachings to elaborate a concept, brain storming questions, giving summary notes as I explain the intended concept and am always ready to understand the weakness of my student and his strength. I normally give topical questions and assignments after each teaching to test whether my student has grasped the concept delivered. I do normally review the previous study before I begin the next lesson to prepare the student for the next lesson, revision of the given assignments after marking and going through them keenly
