I have a passion for helping my students to maximize their potential and with over

23years experience both in Pakistan & Saudi Arabia, I have taught at all levels,

with the sole aim to help students to improve their Communication Skills and

knowledge of English language. Having successfully worked and operated in

different cultures and languages, my strength lies in my ability to drive each and

every student to perform their best. I am of Pakistani origin and was born and

educated in Lahore before moving to Saudi Arabia in 2000. I have English

language and literature teaching background (MA with specialization in English

language and literature) I also hold Post Graduate degrees in Political Science,

Law and International affairs earned from the University of Punjab. I

completed around 24 courses from Oxford and Cambridge Universities

(Specialising in EFL, Literature, Education and Philosophy ). I also consult on

"How to teach Business English Effectively" and currently I am a Lecturer in

English at Umm Al Qura University,Makkah,Saudi Arabia. My mission as always,

is to help students to perform their best.

My Teaching Philosophy
The most important features of my teaching philosophy are enthusiasm, love, passion for and commitment to my profession and

students. I am full of love for my work, this love keeps me motivated,

energized and creative. The next most important aspect of my teaching

philosophy is "eternal" patience. Like other successful EFL teachers I

have to be patient. I am never annoyed with my students if they don't

understand something. I know that not all students learn at the same

pace and inevitably some of them need my special attention. I think

giving up on these students is a mistake as they can usually succeed with

encouragement and hard work.

Like host of my colleagues in this profession, I enable my students to

follow me. I have confidence and strong will power to obtain the best

results from my students. A good sense of humour is another "secret of

my trade" that helps me to simplify my task. I believe that wits and

humour, when applied in the proper manner, can form an important part

of a successful teaching program. This sense of humpour is another

features of my teaching philosophy because it creates a pleasant

atmosphere in my class room where my students know they can ask

questions, make mistakes or try out new ideas.

Another important aspect which I must mention is respect. I respect

my students, their opinions, ideas, style of living, attitude. I attach great

importance to responsibility and conscientious attitude. Equally

important to me are the qualities like persuasiveness, endurance,

tolerance, optimism enthusiasm, objectiveness amiable disposition. I

know developing these characteristics is a kind of challenge, but I during

my career have made every effort to develop them ? I always try to be

conscious of my students' potential, abilities, inclinations and interests. It

helps me to have a certain way with my students, to involve them, to

make the lessons more interesting and effective. It is pertinent to mention

here that I love to know all the peculiarities of English language, its

grammar, lexical structure perfectly well. I am aware that learning and

teaching of foreign language is connected not only with language but also

with history, different spheres of our life and country specific studies. I

have always laid tremendous stress on possessing impeccable teaching

techniques which surely help my students to learn the language properly.

I love to set different kind of activities into motion during the lessons. It

improves my students' skills and make the learning more effective. I also

like to introduce different language games ( depending on the level and

age of my students)projects, composition to exert positive impact on my

students. Lastly, I utilize hardware such as computers, video equipment

and audio equipment in order to arouse the interest of my students and to

make my teaching more effective.
