Myself, Dr Sukanya, have got ten years of experience in the education field in both colleges and
international schools. With a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Science in Economics I
started my career in Bangalore as an Economics and Statistics mentor and then my
cherished ‘learning odyssey of constant reinvention’ with learners happened to
continue…After six years of mentorship in the classroom, I wanted to experience the
administrative perspective of education which complements the academic wing. As an
Admissions and Marketing Head and a Career Path Finder and Analyst for especially the
IGCSE and the IB takers, I’ve always felt that learning, assimilating and applying the transdisciplinary cross sectional skills have exposed me to a comprehensive overview of
instructional pedagogy, its hand-on application and the operational protocols of
administering the procedures. A synthesis of classroom mentorship, application of
marketing tenets with awareness of avoiding marketing myopia, sharp introspection of
consumer choice trend with a fair extrapolation of conversion rate optimization and above
all mapping and constructing personalized programme of study for every student based on
their profile are my areas of interest and action.
I’m a loving wife and a darling mom of an eight year old. A passionate learner, often driven
by my adrenaline rush I go out of the way and take up challenging ventures, in other words
following the untrodden path is a norm for me. Blissful in my own world of Imagineering, I
go maverick with my new plans riding the roller coaster of the progressive thoughts in the
education domain. I am more of a Disc personality streak. I love exploring a new whole mind
with six aptitudes as design, story, play, meaning, symphony and empathy. My inspirational
quotes are
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its
whole life believing that it is stupid” (Albert Einstein) ‘Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish’ (Steve Jobs),
‘The natural tendency for every human being is to learn new skills throughout the life. The
leaning pace depends on the cognitive level of the person.’ (proprietary central theme of
Treamis World School education mission)
A self -critic of my passion, perception, interests and weaknesses have triggered the fire in
me to master the skills of Career Guidance for High School learners. In this context I’ve
attended several professional development workshops and conferences, to name some like
IB CP, ic3 Conference, BMI Global Education Fairs; shortly taking up some more like ‘IB DP
Career and Guidance’ and ‘IB Leadership with clear vision and strategy’. Also my skill set in
areas of counselling encompasses the following areas of my work in the counselling domain.
•MY SKILLS Career counselling for K-12 education system with an expertise in
comprehensive development of soft skills (communication, innovation, design mapping, selfanalysis, conflict resolution, adaptability, strategic planning, problem solving, collaborative
discussions and decision making, observation and listening skills, leadership qualities with
emphasis on team work, ethics, etiquette, empathy, risk analysis and reflection, employer
encounter) and hard skills (computer skills and data analysis, preparing brag sheets, taking
up different psychometric tests as Accuplacer, MAPP test, Jung and Disc Personality tests) in
students
My interest also lies in brainstorming new creative perspectives towards learning. As a part
of marketing collaterals, I’ve published articles in press and online PR-s (‘Splashing Coloursan intersection of cultural diversity in schools’, ‘Mom-s and Dad-s..walk down your bygone
school days with me’, ‘Gen Z classrooms-a smart board or a smart teacher’, ‘Child’s
Behaviour- a challenge, a frustration or a delight’, ‘The Crowning Glory Treamisian’, ‘The
space your child needs is…here’) https://toistudent.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/

•MY SKILLS Marketing - developing a command over interpersonal skills, thinking aloud,
presenting ideas and collaborating with peers, research based analysis by keeping abreast of
new ideas and drawing logical conclusions, thinking out of the box, having a strong
conjecture to negotiate a deal, mind mapping of new ideas, creative designing, content
writing, working with enterprise resource planning software, using project management
software to track the progress of a key campaign, punctilious analysis of competitors’
strategies, developing consumer surveys, devising new concepts and plans, preparing and
discussing weekly reports on SWOT analysis, press releases of editorials on philosophy of
education and meaningful events
Hence, to correlate and complement my background experience and my skill set I aspire
to apply in this Program which will match my niche and knack.
I believe that coming out of my too serious, over perfectionist, intra-personal cocoon,
especially at times of deep reflection, will make me a more relaxed, active and vigilant observer.
In a nutshell I prefer to belong to the legions of intellectually astute and emotionally adroit
leaders who dare to think differently. I am not at all an authoritative leader, rather a motivator,
an observer and a listener. I follow the dictates of my conscience. The poem, Invictus, by William
Ernest Henry on Nelson Mandela, the anti-apartheid revolutionary, political leader, and
philanthropist, ever inspires me with the quotes on the attributes of the great leaders who have
burgeoned out of all odds with their chutzpah, “They are the masters of their fates; the captains
of their souls.”
