I have been serving as “Assistant Professor” at the Faculty of Computer Science, Free University of Bolzano, Italy. Prior to that I have worked as Postdoctoral researcher at Free University of Bolzano (Sep.2019 - Aug.2020) and at University of Trento (Mar. 2017 - Aug. 2019). Before starting my PhD in Dec. 2012, I was affiliated with Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) as Communication Engineer from 5th July 2007 to 20th November 2012.

Having PhD in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), I am keen to continue using my skills and knowledge towards solving the real-world problems; I have been investigating newer human behaviors that could potentially replace the less secure and less usable authentication schemes available on the smart- devices, i.e., tablets, smartphone, smartwatch. I have been working on the identification of the unique human behaviors, collecting the required data, evaluating and prototyping them for implicit and frictionless authentication. Currently, I have been working on exploiting Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) in the cybersecurity domain.

I would love to do teach and help students in Biometrics, Human-centric cybersecurity, Mobile Ubiquitous & Pervasive Computing, Multi-modal Interfaces, Wearable & Cyber-physical Systems, Empirical User Studies, User Behavior, Usable Security, Malware Analysis, and Mobile Device Security, domains.
