Yun Jae Jung Near Expert Level Chess Player (Rated 1900+)
No reviews yet

Hello, it's nice to meet you! My name is Yun and I'm an avid chess player who has been playing the game for around 6 years. At the time of this posting, I'm nearly at the expert level, being rated 1900+ on Chess.com Rapid Time Controls (15 + 10) and 2200+ on Lichess Classical Time Controls (30 + 0). For reference, that's around 99.7th percentile among those who regularly play online or roughly ~95th percentile among those who regularly play in official tournaments.

Additionally, I have previous experience teaching chess to elementary school children so I understand the importance of simplifying complex concepts enough so that anyone can understand the main idea that I'm trying to get across. I'm a theoretician of the game, being completely self-taught, so you can expect me to share a lot of interesting ideas and my unique approach to the game of chess. Still, I focus on what works, helping students get past their plateaus by unraveling the essential components that make better players better so that they improve in an efficient manner. Your success is my success and I would love to do all that I can so that you become not only more confident and capable in your play, but also become someone who truly enjoys this amazing game. Feel free to reach out to me if you're interested!

Stronger students tend to require more attention and specialized training so I charge a higher rate for me to teach them. Longer training sessions (~3 Hours) are generally more efficient for me so they're discounted a bit if ordered in bulk. I provide exceptions given that currency is different in value depending on where one lives, but please note that I will feel uncomfortable being paid less or charging more than the range that I've provided.
