I’m Ammiel, an ACS (Independent) IB graduate who specialises in IB Economics, IB Geography, Theory of Knowledge and IB Mathematics, alongside IA and EE consultations for these subjects. I graduated with 43 points in the IBDP, and I've taught over 30 students from IB schools in and outside of Singapore. I was an ESIS Scholar, Regional Studies Programme (RSP) Scholar and was part of ACS (Independent)'s School Based Gifted Education (SBGE) programme. I will be reading Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE) at King’s College London in 2023.

My relevant credentials are as follows: 43 points for IB and 7s for subjects which I offer (HL Mathematics, HL Economics, SL Geography). I also attained double A's for my Extended Essay in Economics and Theory of Knowledge (TOK).

In the past 2 years, I’ve taught 20 students from various IB schools, in Singapore and Internationally, with students ranging from Grades 7-12. These schools include ACS (Independent), SOTA, SJI, SJI (International), ACS (International), CIS, UWCSEA, Stamford American International, Whitgift School (UK), British School Jakarta (BSJ) and others.

My teaching style is as follows:

Firstly, I believe that one’s knowledge is only as good as the notes that they have. Hence, my lessons are taught using my personal notes that helped me score in exams. These notes are annotated and explained during lessons and sent to my students at the end of each lesson.

Secondly, I believe knowledge is best refined when it is applied. Hence, I assign assignments modelled after exam questions to help my students apply the knowledge they’ve gained. I believe strongly in this, with one of my former students improving from 25/60 to 55/60 for their AP Economics MCQ in a matter of 2 weeks through this targeted practice.

Lastly, knowing how to write a good report is a foundational skill. I have provided over 30 consultations for IA, EE and TOK writeups, and have a bank of Grade 7/A samples which I teach from. I teach by example, and often send my students my Grade A TOK, EE and IAs as structural references and teaching exemplars.

    Together with a partner, I founded WellPrepped Education (www.wellprepped.sg) in 2022. WellPrepped is a Singapore-based IB online tutoring company serving a community of 19 IB schools in Singapore, Malaysia, Jakarta, and Vietnam.

    We combine comprehensive notes with exam-based practice to teach you how to tackle exams effectively, alongside consultations are backed by Grade A examples so you know exactly how to write a good IA, EE, and TOK essay.
