I base my teaching philosophy on the constructivist school of thought. I believe that no student is a tabula rasa for information to be poured onto and the teacher is also not an embodiment of knowledge to spoon feed the the student with all information, but rather a facilitator in the teaching learning process. The teacher facilitates by enabling the student build new knowledge based on relevant previous knowledge.
I therefore use teaching styles or methods such as brainstorming, discussion, questions and answers, hands-on and minds-on activity methods etc.
These methods have really improved learners understanding as far as my experience is concerned.over the years students have always loved my lessons and I think it is because I have always involved them in it, and that is what make me unique.
I love teaching and this is because my students do understand my lessons.
