Professor Josiah Oladele BABATOLA, is a Nigerian-born Professor of Civil Engineering. I attended Byelorussian Agricultural Academy, Gorki, BSSR, USSR between 1979 and 1985 where I obtained a Master of Science in Hydraulic Engineering and a certificate in Russian Language in 1985. I later proceeded to Federal University of Technology, Akure where I obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). He joined the services of the Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria as Assistant Lecturer in 1987. I left Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria in 1993 as Lecturer II and joined the services of the Federal University of Technology in the Department of Civil Engineering as Lecturer I in 1st February, 1993. I have carried out a lot of research works in the Water Resources Engineering, Wastewater Engineering, Waste Management, Waste-to-wealth and Renewable Energy.

He is an active member/fellow of the Centre for Renewable Energy of the Federal University of Technology, Akure. He have also participated and still participating in many consultancies in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) projects and Feasibility Studies. He also has links with many companies, governmental and non-governmental agencies/organizations connected with water, wastewater, sanitation, waste management and renewable energy. He is currently actively involved in teaching, research, consultancy and community development projects.
