Engagement : I always start a unit by checking for prior knowledge and gauge how much a child knows, based on which I am able to tweak my lessons. Post that I begin by an interesting anecdote or video related to the unit I will teach Lessons : I choose not more than one or two sub-units per class so that a child is able to grasp concepts and not be overwhelmed by subject content. My lessons involve me explaing for not more than 5 - 7 minutes and then quick check for understandings (quizlets, online worksheets, padlet, kahoot, etc). I prefer students taking notes in class as writing is definitely one way of remembering concepts. HW policy : I prefer not to give HW everyday but one HW at the end of the week which I expect to be completed (unless there is an emergency of course) Ending the class: Last 10 minutes of the class are for problem/doubt solving Tests : I conduct 2 formative assessments during the course of the unit and one final end of unit summative assessment
