I focus on basics first depending on the level of the student. Warm-ups and a few exercises relevant to the choreography begin the class, keeping in mind what the student expects to take away from them. Dance is cathartic and I make sure that my classes work in that direction. I break down the choreography and explain it in a manner that is comprehensible and relatable. Alternatives are also provided if the steps are too advanced but I keep it in mind to push the student to their furthest. Having been trained in multiple dance forms, I understand that every person resonates with a different type of movement and classes are constructed accordingly. Each class challenges the individual to become better than they were yesterday and hence, take home the feeling of accomplishment.
