I am a passionate, caring teacher, who loves working with all age groups and I enjoy watching students work to the best of their ability at all times and become successful in the class and after leaving school.
I am a British, UK trained teacher and I also have American, IB, PYP experience having worked abroad in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. I am able to help with additional homeroom/classroom subjects- maths and science, social studies from beginners to expert level.
Firstly, I will listen very carefully to what your needs are. Together we (parents, student and teacher) will organize a study plan that is best for you. And you and your parents/guardians can tell me what you expect of me as a teacher.
I think that it is important that you, as the student, will come to all your lessons with a great attitude knowing what your needs are, trying your best and enjoying your work and learning in every lesson.
When we start working together, I expect you to listen carefully, ask questions if you do not understand, do short or long tasks with help and guidance from me, which should be mostly correct. I will teach you to check your work and find corrections that need to be made as this is for gaining accuracy and handing in work that deserves full marks from your schoolteacher.
I will always continue to guide you and help you build your confidence in the areas that you feel you need the most help. Asking questions means you are taking ownership of your work and shows that you care about what you do and the marks you get- you are also developing your speaking and communication with peers (other students). You will also have more confidence in speaking more often with your teacher and school managers. Your English skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing) will develop quickly and you will take part in the classroom activities more often. And you will be able to use these skills in other subjects more easily.
I can ensure that your learning will be 'fun' and your experience will be used and seen in and outside of the lessons.
I look forward to working with you.
