Hello,
My name is Alaa, and I have a Bachelor of science (BSc) degree in Biology from Saint Mary's University and a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Educational Foundations from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, NS, Canada. Additionally, I am a certified IB biology and Theory of Knowledge (TOK) teacher. I currently teach at a private American school in Kuwait and have been teaching in the same school for the past 8 years.
I am a passionate educator with great expertise in teaching science, specifically biology. I started my career in teaching grade 10 biology and later received my certification to teach IB biology and TOK. I enjoy teaching both in-person and online and have done both for several years. I am very patient and determined to support my students' learning in every way possible. I make learning fun for my students by incorporating diverse methods, such as visuals, online simulations, etc. I strive to provide a holistic approach to teaching and learning where students can relate what they take in the session to the outside world.

    I was a tutor at the Saint Mary's University Writing Centre for two years. I mainly tutored science students who needed support with lab reports, research papers, etc.
