Mark YOBESIALecturer- Research & Quantitative Techniques
No reviews yet
I am a tourism and environmental economist and a university lecturer. I have 12 years of experience as a tourism trainer. As a trainer, I participate in curriculum development, research, and conducting academic instruction for undergraduate students. I currently teach research methods, quantitative techniques, GIS, and tourism economics. I supervise and mentor undergraduate research projects. I have expert knowledge in statistical applications such as the Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS), Microsoft Excel, and QGIS for geospatial analysis. I have demonstrable academic research experience with several publications in high-impact academic journals. My online method of instruction relies on a collaborative and interactive approach where the learner(s) is involved in an experiential learning process that focuses on imparting the requisite state-of-the-art knowledge of the subject matter. The methodology also focuses on developing the student's technical skills in research and quantitative analysis by the use of actual datasets from real-life learning scenarios, actual research data and practical problems. My teaching approach aims to inculcate a scholarly attitude in the learner by promoting their interest and inquisitiveness in the subject matter. I conduct the online instruction through pre-recorded video lecture presentations, live online classrooms, and live demonstrations (lab sessions). Learners get to practice the skills learned and sharpen their knowledge of the subject matter by completing short end-of-topic quizzes and tasks.
