Mathematics takes practice and guidance to master. I usually show the learner, how a problem is solved and give exercises on the same area to instill the understanding through practice. As the learner is doing the problems, I also do them and compare the answers. That approach from my experience boosts their confidence and empowers their skills. I also like to test their knowledge with speed tests, because they also need to know how to manage their time. The participation in sessions is essential for deeper understanding of the content.
