I have a 100% result over my 28 years of teaching, with 70% of my students achieving a Grade B and above in O Level English Language.
I teach both online and in-person, using PowerPoint slides to explain concepts and examination requirements or techniques, and past paper practice to ensure implementation of understood methodologies.
Online classes are held thrice a week, 40 minutes duration each. These 40 minutes are used for discussion: examination board requirements of the genres included in the syllabus; graded attempts and markschemes. Tasks are usually done in student's own time, unless it comes to revision of all the practised genres, in which case there's time left for attempting the papers during online classes. The cost of online classes is obviously less due to the saved travelling expenditure and time.
For in-person O Level English Language students, 2 to 3 days are ample time to ascertain completion of one past paper as well as its checking, grading according to the mark schemes.
Grade 6 to Grade 8 generally require more time/days per week of a contracted month.
Mathematics requires more time in imparting concepts to students, and then exercise by the students in order to grasp the learnt concepts for greater lengths of time.
Therefore, maximum 2 hours per lesson are sufficient for O Level students whereas 1 hour per lesson is adequate for 6th to 8th Graders.

On my part, sincere effort and punctual regularity are guaranteed for all my students. I need students to be willing to learn, only. And my, always, is to make my pupils independent over time.
