Hi, Assalaamu Alaykum Wa Rohmatullaahi Wa Barokaatu ☺ My name is Shamsunnisa.
I specialise in teaching kids & adults to become Quran literate. My teaching style is based off of your learning style. I am very intuitive when it comes to teaching & can teach you specifically the best way you will learn. I am very liberal and get straight to work keeping learning light, fun and impactful. I believe that learning the Quran is a beautiful art and we should have a good understanding about the rewards thereof and keep our posture in accordance to patience & love for the beautiful speech of Allah. This Book brings joy to our hearts & we must understand how important each and every letter is. Every effort we make learning & teaching is for our Aakhirah and so both teacher & student should be humbled by the oppurtunity to participate. I believe that every person has a special way of grasping any form of information. Nothing is difficult. All things are possible with Allah (SWT).     I taught 2 English speaking boys (aged 6 & 4)
    Beginner level from Arabic Alphabet to Quran literate.
    Foundation phase english reading taught from alphabet until they were able to read fluently, Alhamdulillaah.
    Foundation phase basic mathematics to 6 year old.
    I taught Arabic speaking boy (age 7) basic english language & how to speak it.

    Teaching the basics of Islam via play to kids from age 2 to 5.

    I taught a 11 year old girl (Urdu/English speaker) Quran reading.
    Specifically concentrating on Tajweed & fluency as she was already Quran literate but needed much attention in this area in order to start her hifth journey. Alhamdulillaah, she grasped well & soon became fluent and confident in her reading.
    I taught her brother (6 years old)
    Arabic alphabet and used basic methods to help him retain his learning as he had special needs with regards to attention span. He learnt until harakah with me, Alhamdulillaah.
  • Teacher (Jan, 2009–Dec, 2011) at Madrassa Tul Falaah Al Islamiyyah Cape Town
    Teaching kids Quran recitation with Tajweed implementation from introductory level until they graduate into the Quran. Thereafter, I work on fluency & memorisation. Older kids are introduced to Tajweed theory & learn a deeper understanding thereof.
    I also taught a bit of Aqeedah, Fiqh, Akhlaaq, Seeroh & Duaas. But Quran is my speciality, Alhamdulillaah.
