Hi All,
I am an extremely passionate teacher who believes that "One masters a subject only when he can explain it to others in the simplest way". I have a vast amount of experience and exposure. I qualified IIT-JEE back in 2007 and worked as a space scientist for many years. My strong inclination towards academia and research have again brought me to IIT, from where i am presently pursuing Ph.D.

Money has always remained secondary for me. I would never hesitate to spend extra hours with students if it is required (obviously without any fee). My aim is to impart best of the knowledge possible. I am sure i can do it better than anyone, because i have always taken the longer route in life. I have spent enormous time in academia learn things through the hard way and that's why i know where student gets stuck and how they can excel. Due to my extensive industry experience, I also provide student with necessary motivation through application areas (student love it and it really helps). My students usually get associated with me for long term, so I believe I am doing justice to my job.

(Unfortunately, I am new to this platform so don't have many reviews :( Hope you don't consider this as a matter of concern).

As of now, I have 6 reviews (in reverse chronological order):

1) The first review is from Rohak (from UK). I taught him some really advanced topics in ML. His course was quite thorough in terms of syllabus. Although I had to cover the same in limited time, but all thanks to Rohak for having great mathematical foundation a priori. If someone just listen to our class conversation, he would easily grasp even the most involved topics. His questions were right on point that hints about his rational thinking mind. I was thoroughly satisfied as a teacher to teach him. No doubt, he performed exceedingly well in his exams. Mark my words “If Rohak continue to work exhaustively in ML research he would be the guy to follow.”

2) The second review is from Hope (from the U.S.). She is by far the most methodical and punctual student I came across. She is a great example of how one continually develop his skills and knowledge with extra ordinary time management techniques (no matter how busy you are). Lot to learn from her as well.

3) The third review is from Ujjwal (who studies in Trinity College, Dublin). He is a scholar and someone who never postpone anything. He is very ambitious and thoughtful boy. Really like teaching him as he keeps the class interactive.

4) The fourth review is from Mr. Mustafa, whose daughter (from University of Toronto) is learning real core areas of ML along with me. Her sincereness and dedication are inspiration for me as well. It further motivates me give the best quality education.

5) The fifth review is from a very sincere and curious learner Abhishek (from New Delhi, India). Abhishek is learning "Advanced topics in ML" along with Probabilistic Modelling and Inference with me. He is one of the most intelligent student I have ever taught, having knowledge in diverse fields.

6) The sixth review is from a very enthusiastic learner - Venkat (from U.S.), who is exploring the field of "Machine Learning" with me. He is working professional with an unmatchable zeal to learn more.

Update: In next few days, I am planning to start a batch (where not more than 3 students allowed) on ML. One student is already waiting. This scheme should help student who has concerns over fee as the fee for 1 hour will be distributed among 3. Moreover, with just 3 students it will be equivalent to personalised learning experience.

Go-to tutor to understand Data science algorithms ; very honest & patient style of teaching

I'd like to share my honest review here so it will help future learners select the tutor that best suits them. I will address various aspects of Piyush's teaching style
1. Knowledge : Undoubtedly he has lot of depth in All areas of datasceince ML/Stats/Probabilistic ML. You can expect Piyush to cover some math behind algorithm. This actually helped me connect dots across different areas of data science and motivates me. He also gives examples of practical application so you can develop general knowledge of applications of data science and how to apply at work. If math is a lot for you, you can ask him to cover concepts superficially .
2. Adaptability : Piyush adjusts to timezone differences and is very flexible
3. Patient : Even if i forget or ask for recap, he patiently helps you recollect. There is no condescending style of teaching but helps me ask silliest of questions
4. Practice : We haven't yet started practical projects yet so cant say. I am told we will soon. But he once covered how an algorithm works from scratch so for research students, this will be great.
5. Teaching capability : i can understand what Piyush teaches and if he feels student is not grasping he will simplify concepts and teach using examples.
I already have a masters in data science so i had some knowledge of topics he covers. For me, its good learning in understanding concepts deeper , learning advance topics and revision. For a beginner data science student, if you are keen on learning concepts thoroughly, Piyush would be the go to person. If you are a researcher or advanced student, Piyush will be the best for you

Truely a Life Saviour teacher

Excellent Tutor for me in Machine Learning

Piyush has an extremely friendly personality and it becomes very evident as soon as you start taking tuition from him that he genuinely cares about his student's conceptual understanding and ability to follow his lessons. His approach in teaching is very easy to follow as he personally creates slides and presentations tailored for your specific syllabus and builds a strong foundation of basic necessary knowledge before moving on to more advanced topics. I have also never felt as though I am interrupting him by asking questions as I've always got the impression that he is more than happy and willing to answer them.

Great Machine Learning Tutor

I would highly recommend anyone interested in machine learning to message Piyush about tutoring. He breaks down the concepts in a way that is quite clear and understandable. He has helped me develop a greater understanding of the underlying mathematical concepts behind different machine learning algorithms and delves deep into the topics discussed. In the course I am taking, I have had to write algorithms from scratch and his lectures have helped me to understand what is required without using the libraries I am use to. Additionally, he explains what techniques current research is exploring and points to relevant resources.

Expert in Machine Learning

Piyush has an excellent mathematical background that gives him a very deep foundational insight into the concepts within ML. He always comes prepared with excellent slides and handouts that help to elevate student's knowledge within the ML subject. Amazing Session !! Thank You So Much !!

I had some exposure on ML but wanted to develop deeper mathematical insights in Machine learning and Probabilistic Modelling and Inference. I approached Piyush and expressed my expectations/requirements and we started immediately. Let me tell you this is by far the best learning experience for me.
