Good day, students I would like to introduce myself to you. I am Dr. Gishma Mohamed from Port Elizabeth, South Africa. I have twenty three (23) years of working experience in academia, administrative positions and finance. My teaching, lecturing and facilitation experience are as follows. I have eight years of ESL experience and the students that I have taught are from various nationalities that being Chinese, Korean, Somalian, Arabic, Congolese, Ethiopian, Portuguese, Russian and Kazakh. I have had the opportunity to teach them in South Africa and abroad. I have had the experience of teaching primary learners, secondary learners and adults in ABET, Further Education and Training, and Higher Education as well. I was involved in the curriculum design of the English Language Skills programme and was I trained to instruct learners using Instrumental Enrichment, a cognitive approach, to motivating learners to think and learn better. The subjects that I teach are sociology, ESL, business management, industrial relations and life orientation. I managed the Writing Centre for 2 years to assist second language speakers of English with their academic writing. I am a freelance trainer of soft skills. In addition to that, I am also an Educational Consultant, in which I train teachers, teacher trainers and principals. Furthermore, I am a specialist counsellor with the South African Council for Counsellors accredited by the National Healers Association. I completed my DPhil in Sociology and Education in 2013 and this research was to design a fit-for-purpose mentoring system for dysfunctional schools in South Africa. My Master’s Degree was about mentoring as well; the topic was about the nature, importance, context and insights into developing mentoring systems. So mentoring is the area in which I specialise. To tell you what mentoring is; mentoring is seen as a robust vehicle for transformation within educational settings to develop and empower individuals. It has also become a progressive approach for the professional development of employees. Therefore, its prominence has been wide recognised and acknowledged. I have a lot of experience in mentoring and in working with students in educational institutions. My lessons are interesting and I use a combination of tools and blended learning methods to achieve my learning outcomes in a learner centred environment. If you would like to know more, do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you very much. My CV is fit-for-purpose for teaching and training jobs in the areas I have specified above. I look forward to hearing from you. Good Bye.
