Robelle Linster Alalong, known to many as simply "Obel", entered the UST Conservatory of Music as a Piano Performance major (minor in Voice), earning awards and recognition as a talented young pianist. His unwavering passion for Music also led him to pursue a career in pop singing. His versatile tenor voice being heard in popular radio stations, Love Radio 98.7 and DZMM, and making appearances in ABS CBN's highly successful 'The Voice of the Philippines' (Blind Auditions) and GMA's 'To The Top' (Elimination Round Contender). He was also a weekly grand winner of a pop singing contest organized by the World Trade Center. Other TV appearances include: 'Rise and Shine' (UNTV), 'Unang Hirit' (GMA), and a featured appearance as a 'Singing Telegram' in TV5's Valentine Special and GMA's 'Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho', all under Oliver's World of Events Production.
As a pianist, he won the Grand Prize at the prestigious Chopin Competition in 2010 and was UST’s representative at the launching of the Chopin Society. He was 1st Honorable Mention at the Romantic Piano Competition by the Piano Teacher’s Guild of the Philippines (PTGP) in 2008 and 1st Honorable Mention at Etude Piano Competition in 2012. In 2014, he was sent by UST to perform at the master class conducted by Christian Leotta, student of world-renowned pianist, Daniel Barenboim at the University of the Philippines Abelardo Hall (College of Music).
Obel continues to share his talent as a pianist through constant collaborations with talented singers of different genres, allowing him to gain a further understanding of different singing styles which enabled him to pursue an exciting career in crossover singing.
