Professor Khalil Ansari Fundamentals of Electromagnetic, Laws and Theorems

Having more than 30 years teaching experience, I always start a course from scratch so that the students feel comfortable with the beginning of the course. For example in Electromagnetic Fields and Waves I begin with the Scalar and Vector quantities followed by the three coordinate systems i.e. the Cartesian, the Cylindrical and the Spherical. Then covering the basic Laws and Theorems, I, one by one cover four Maxwell 's equations on which the entire electromagnetic theory is based.
This course is quite conceptual, imaginative and very mathematical oriented and therefore causes the students to face lot of difficulties in understanding this course. For students with weak mathematical background I even coverup the desired mathematical topics to help such students to comfortably pickup the course contents. With the development of analytical skills the knowledge of students is raised to a level where they can confidently solve the drill and the end of chapter problems. As a course teacher I fell my responsibility to guide the students in solving their assignments/ quizzes etc. The text book that I usually use for this course is "Engineering Electromagnetics" by William H. Hyat and John A. Buck (any edition).
A similar approach is adopted for course such as Circuit Analysis, Signals and Systems etc.
