Hello to whomsoever it may concern! I am a teacher by profession. I'm in the field of teaching for the last 27 years. I teach English and Social Science to middle and high school students. I have worked in well-reputed schools of India and generated 100% academic results, especially in board classes in the concerned subjects. I have taught in schools following CBSE, CISCE and IGCSE curricula.
I provide guidance in the concerned subject/s according to the child's ability, thereby coming down to his or her level of understanding. This makes him or her confident and helps in inculcating interest in the subject/s that he or she has been finding too difficult and boring to study all along.
My idea is to concretise and simplify abstract and complex topics with suitable illustrations and anecdotes, so that my pupils are able to grasp them easily. I also make extensive use of audio-visual aids, mnemonics and many other memorization strategies, also word games such as scrabble, crossword puzzles and so on, so as to enable them internalize and retain information without much struggle and also find an element of fun in learning. Needless to say, these strategies provide no scope for cramming and rote learning.
I believe in the intrinsic quality of my pupils, since I consider that each one of them is unique and special in his or her own way and has some quality or the other to be nurtured and cherished. Accordingly, I devise my own teaching strategies through which I try to bring the best out of them.I design worksheets, assignments and projects according to their specific academic and intellectual needs. I feel that through these techniques, concepts are better reinforced and drilled and self-learninig methods are accentuated.
Moreover, I believe in maintaining a friendly and informal approach towards my pupils, since learning cannot be accomplished under stress and anxiety. I therefore handle my students with love, care and compassion. At the same time I make it a point to see that they don't take advantage of my being liberal with them, especially when it comes to completing assignments and submission of tasks on time. I ensure that regularity and punctuality are maintained in this regard.
I encourage my pupils to ask as many questions as they like and try to satisfy their inquisitive mind to the greatest possible extent. Therefore, in course of my teaching, I create ample scope to generate discussions on a given topic. This is the way I feel children's thoughts and opinions are valued and respected and they become enthusiastic learners. They, in fact, start loving the subject that they have been hating all along.
I am a passionate teacher. I have chosen this profession because I love teaching. I am sincere and honest to my job and try to do full justice to my pupils. Over the years my pupils have appreciated my teaching and appraised me as patient, enthusiastic, accessible and resourceful...and that's the greatest life-time award a teacher could have had received in his or her professional career. I look forward to meeting new students and teach them through online platform.
