I started my teaching career part-time while I was studying at University as a Mechatronics Engineer. After working for several years, I realized that engineering was never a true passion of mine. So I decided to pursue teaching.
I started full-time tutoring by working in a tuition center and also doing private classes. During that period of time, I was exposed to teaching in small groups, large groups, and even one-to-one. After Covid-19 hit, I decided to stop tuition centers and pursue full-time private tutoring in which I would travel to the student's house to conduct my classes and also virtually if necessary.
Overall, parents are very pleased with my teaching method as they always request for me to continue teaching their children for several years. Some of my students also told their parents that they would like me to teach more than one subject.
Teaching Method: 1. Emphasize the balance of responsibility and fun. There is time for fun but there is also time to be serious. Achieving the balance will ensure a more pleasant experience for students to learn. 2. Encourage students to explain and share (to enhance their learning experience instead of only listening to lessons) 3. Focus more on practice and exercises than theory. Practice with real questions is the best way to absorb the lessons.
Student's Study Plan a. Exercises after every class - For practice purposes because practice makes perfect. b. Test after every chapter - To evaluate Student's understanding c. Quizzes every now and then - To revise and recap past chapters (prepare Students for Finals) d. Summarized Notes will be prepared for students. e. Students will also be allowed to access my collection of notes, exercises, and videos.
