Well, I completed my msc in mathematics and computing from IIT Guwahati. In that place I found my interest in mathematics and I spent most of my time to do Maths. This subject increase my thinking ability and in each concept I try to think in different way. Most of students try to memorising the thing instead of understanding. I read foreign writer book like Rudin, carother's real analysis, folland measure theory etc book which (specially carother's) change my way of thinking. Now I have an ability to understand any books easily.
I believe in the Chinese proverb: I hear, I forget; I see, I remember; I do, I know.
so you can understand mathematics if you only do mathematics . If something is not understandable break this into smaller parts and understand each part by taking examples or graphically if possible and then try to think how this is true in general. This is one of the way I realize during my Msc, to understand mathematics in easier way.
