I am Vishnupuram Raghu Mridangam and 'A' grade Moorsing Artiste (Awarded by All india Radio). I have been playing Mridangam for the past 40 years and Moorsing for the last 20 years. I started to learn Mridangam at the age of 20. Also I was attracted to the Nadam in Moorsing and so I also Mastered the art of playing Moorsing as well. I learnt Mridangam from my respected Guru Sri Poongulam Sabesa Iyer and Shri Salem Srinivasan ( A Top Rank Mridangam staff artiste All India Radio Tiruchirapalli). I have been performing live concerts with many eminent artists. Some of the eminent artiste with whom I had performed in the past are Dr N Ramani, Shri M Chandra Shekharan, Shri Neiveli SanthanGopalan, Shri T V Shankar Narayanan, Shrimati Bombay Sisters, Shrimati A Kanyakumari, Shrimati Nityashri, Shri Nagai R Muralidharan, Shri O S Thiagrajan. I have a great interest and passion to teach this Divine art of music to all the sincere students out there.
