Being an experienced English teacher who has taught middle and high school students at international schools following American and British curriculums, I believe that language learning is fun, yet requires conscientious efforts to be put in the right direction. As the core language skills, namely listening, speaking, reading, and writing, are inseparable, I have trained my students with a holistic approach integrating the four sections of English Language Arts: literature, vocabulary, grammar, and writing, using Project Based Learning and Literature-based Instruction. My teaching methodology is learner-centered and aimed at triggering the critical thinking and analytical skills of the students as they connect what they learn to real life. Technology-integrated methodology enables learners to be well-versed in this digital era, refining their 21st century employability skills. I monitor the student progress through the evaluation of periodic assessments, both formal and informal, thus ensuring to set a higher goal as benchmark or by taking relevant remedial measures. I enjoy empowering learners through exploration while assisting them in mastering language skills, as language is the key to attaining wisdom.
