I have been in teaching profession since more than 30 years. Ever since I joined Ramaiah Institute of Technology, I have been involved in all kinds of teaching related activities such as student related, administrative & autonomous services, self development, R & D activities and contribution to professional development. As a Member of Board of Studies, for RIT, Autonomous course, I have been actively involved in framing and
preparing the syllabus for all semesters. Participated in all the board meetings with other members and as a
member of curriculum development committee, I was responsible for the design of curriculum and preparation of draft copy of the syllabi for Mechanical Engineering Autonomous course. During my service at RIT, I taught
various new subjects (both theory and practical) and offered number of elective courses for students. Throughout my academic career, I have maintained fairly good FCI.(above 80 in AcD, AtD & DD) Result analysis of the subjects handled during the last 20 years is quite good. Hitherto, I have guided more than 30 projects both at UG & PG courses and some of them have won best project awards in the project exhibition conducted every year. I proposed few projects which could be experimental set up for laboratories. Involved in the preparation of Resource Material such as teaching notes for all the subjects handled, lab manuals for various laboratories and authored books on few subjects. I have organized training programs for both faculty and students pertaining to the laboratory experiments. I have counseled and guided number of students regarding autonomous curriculum. I have been effective in student counseling as a Proctor for a group of 25 students. Actively involved in helping students in their seminar presentation, project guidance, and career guidance by giving recommendation letters to deserving students going abroad for higher studies etc. As Remedial Teaching for weaker students, I had engaged
extra coaching classes and special classes on week days during evenings and on all Saturdays for both I & II
semester students for CAED subject.
Pertaining to Self-Development, so far I have undergone more than 50 weeks of short term Training/ Faculty
improvement/work shops and attended umpteen numbers of national level conferences/seminars, both at Institute and outside Institute. These training programs have helped me to understand and learn the latest developments in the relevant field and gained in depth knowledge and acquired new skills so that I could impart the same to the students and contribute much to the teaching. As regards the Administrative and autonomous services, I am involved in SME activities as a member, actively participated in preparing class time table for all semesters, class teacher for 10 semesters, departmental library activities apart from regular participation in the activities of the department. Accompanied students for industrial visits to leading industries in and around & outside Bangalore.
Pertaining to R & D activities, I have registered for PhD under the guidance of Dr. S.V. Prakash in Visveswaraya
Institute of Technology and the work is completed. Likely to submit the Thesis by Dec 2020. Published many
National & International level conference papers & Journal Papers. I was a member of editorial board for AIM news letter. I am in charge of 3 laboratories and am doing my best to develop and improve the laboratories. I was a resource person in training programs in SDP Mechatronics conducted at MSRIT in July 2009. Delivered lectures on Applied Elasticity & Plasticity, FEM for PG students at NTTF, Bangalore & NTTF, Coimbatore as guest faculty. Also handled classes on Design of Machine Elements for in-house employees of Ashoka Leyland, Hosur & Dynamics & Vibrations, CAE for in-house employees of Mercedes Benz Ltd., Bangalore.
Apart from these, I have successively organized and conducted 4 weeks of STTP on FEM analysis using
NASTRAN/PATRAN both for students and faculty. I was involved as a coordinator for skill development
program for both non teaching staff and other factory workers. I have been doing regularly
Examination/university related services and worked as coordinator for 4 times for VTU valuation work.

CAREER PLAN/FUTURE PLAN
• I am confident of completing PhD shortly. As I have got a flair, aptitude and high degree of propensity for R & D work, I would like to take up consultancy projects in Design Engineering and other new technical field by interaction with Industry/External organization and provide technical services and training facilities for practicing Engineers. I am planning to organize training programs and short term courses in CAD/CAM/CAE/FEM software development, control applications of Automotive Engineering, vibration Analysis of real life engineering problems for our own students and our faculty members so that they would be benefitted by acquiring latest skills pertaining to both theory and practical subjects.
• Planning to write proposals for funds from AICTE, DST and other agencies.
• To strengthen Autonomous Design curriculum with systematic design methodology. To generate new ideas and concepts in Mechanical Engineering field so as to benefit students.
• To develop course materials and software tools for use in engineering and professional education.
• The Autonomous courses should be designed to have judicious blend of theory and practice and focus attention on the immediate application of knowledge gained on the shop floor of the Indian Industries.
• Continuing Education / Interaction with Industry, other Agencies / R&D
• To provide the Industrial exposure as a part of curriculum.
• To develop latest Teaching audio and visual aids so as to make class room teaching effective.
• To keep pace with the technological developments and update the knowledge.
• Opting the Advanced subjects as electives for students to meet Industrial requirements.
• Preparing the students for presenting the papers and innovative ideas at conferences.
• Awareness program about the recent software’s available and their applications.
